Literature from Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (ISW)

The domain Global Health, Care & Society offers an interdisciplinary, English language programme of 30 points with a focus on the theme of health from its broadest, biosocial perspective. Health in this sense is seen as an attribute which people hold as well as a relationship. Interdisciplinary analysis of health as such not only encompassing medical care and its formal institutions, but also the social determinants of health, the cultural diversity of ideas about health, globalization of infectious and chronic diseases, histories of human policies surrounding care, or the relationship between sexuality and health. The domain Global Health, Care & Society consists of the required introduction course Global Health, Care & Society (ASW), a choice between one of two additional mandatory courses (Youth and Health (ASW) orHealth & Inequality (ASW)) and one elective, including  a possibility for an applied internship (Global Health Internship (ASW)).
